Social value
Our commitment to social value is our unique selling point as a business. We follow the Sovini Group mantra that “doing good is good business”, and this has served us well – giving us the business opportunity to create lasting legacies in the communities we serve.
We believe that behaving ethically is fundamental to establishing and sustaining legitimate and productive relationships with our partners and we understand the importance of social value to the development and growth of our business.
We have adopted the principles of ISO 26000:2010 Guidance on Social Responsibility which provides us with a framework on how to evidence that we operate in a socially responsible way.
This means acting in an ethical and transparent way that contributes to the health and welfare of society.
As part of this, we support local charities and organisations including building a retreat for injured service personnel, helping to refurbish a community centre and taking part in DIY SOS projects.
We are also a committed advocate of the apprenticeship programme, providing employment and training opportunities in our communities and helping to tackle a skills gap in the trades.
We provide a safe and healthy working environment for our employees. Our management systems have been assessed and registered to ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems and ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems. This was also recognised by the award of the RoSPA Gold Award for Occupational Health and Safety. The award, from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents, is the highest accolade that can be achieved.
