Sovini Property Services apprentices scoop top award at The Sovini Group Apprentice Awards

Two of our employees were named joint winners of the ‘Apprentice of the Year’ award at the second Apprentice Awards hosted by The Sovini Group.

The Sovini Group Apprentice Awards took place on Thursday 6th February – during National Apprenticeship Week – recognising the positive impact of apprentices on the organisation.

The winners are:

Rising Star Award

Luke Townley, Plumbing Apprentice, Sovini Property Services

“I have nominated Luke because I am really impressed with the progress he has made since becoming my apprentice. He always has a positive attitude no matter what the situation is and never complains. He always listens to advice and takes criticism constructively in order to improve. He produces a really high standard of work and will make a really good engineer in the future.”

Most Improved Award

Holly Baldwin, HR Apprentice, Sovini

“Holly is focused on where she wants to be and on progressing to the next level of her career in HR and this is shown clearly in her attitude towards her college work. She has shown that she isn’t afraid of a challenge, such as doing a new starter induction, and time and time again demonstrates how much she has learnt since she joined our team and how much she has grown in confidence.”

Inspiration Award

Joe Duffy, Apprentice Joiner, Sovini Property Services

“Improved his all-round skills over the last year and is working hard towards completing his apprenticeship”

Best Newcomer Award

Tracy Lin, Bilingual Housing Apprentice, Pine Court Housing Association

“Tracy started with Pine Court in March last year. She had very little experience in housing but has worked tirelessly to learn. She puts in remarkable effort with her professional qualification and day to day work is of a consistently high standard. She has been trusted to assist on our Welfare Reform Project and her work has been invaluable to Pine Court in measuring our performance in this area. Aside from this she always has a huge smile on her face and is brilliant with our customers. Nothing is too much trouble for Tracy and no doubt her hard work will be rewarded at the end of her apprenticeship.

Mentor of the Year Award

Steven Thomas, Plasterer, Sovini Property Services

“Steven tries his best to teach the plastering apprentices, teaching a job that is basically an art form is as inspirational as it is hard.”

Top E-Learner

Johnathon Hale, Apprentice, Teal Scaffold

“Johnathon holds the title for the most e-learning courses completed outside of the mandatory courses and his apprenticeship package. He is always keen to learn!”

Trainers Choice

Victoria Owens, Customer Service Advisor, One Vision Housing

“Victoria has shown has an outstanding commitment to getting the job done, ahead of time and to a very high standard, while pushing for more. She has shown the ability to complete anything which I have set before her and come back for more, stretching and challenging herself. Victoria worked hard to complete ahead of target.  She has a real hunger, commitment and enthusiasm for learning, and met each task set to the highest standard.”

Apprentice of the Year

Lucas Redmond-Quick, Apprentice Plumber, Sovini Property Services (joint winner)

“Although I’ve been mentoring Lucas for quite a short period , it is clear that he is very keen to learn and his skill set is improving at a fast rate for his age . Lucas will be a very good addition to the workforce if he carries on his progress.”

Josh Horrocks, Apprentice Electrician, Sovini Property Services (joint winner)

“From pushing a brush to rewiring an house say no more…..very passionate young man…..improving everyday…..I’ve seen a lot of young apprentices in my time I can spot a goodun.”
