Sovini Property Services offer all aspects of maintenance and construction services throughout the North West.

CLOSING THE GAP ON GENDER PAY

HERE’S HOW SOVINI PROPERTY SERVICES IS CHALLENGING INDUSTRY STEREOTYPES THROUGH INNOVATIVE INITIATIVES.

In 2022/23, Sovini Property Services’ mean gender pay gap was 0.65% in favour of men, which is favourable with the UK’s gender pay gap within the construction industry. The company, which is proudly part of The Sovini Group, have remained committed over the past five years, reducing their mean pay gap 19.91% to 0.65%.

The property maintenance company made strides towards closing the gap between male and female colleagues, with an increased number of female apprentices joining the organisation, and more women appointed into leadership positions.

Chief Business Officer, Anita Harrison-Carroll who oversees the Group’s commercial activities is calling for more females to be empowered to consider a career in construction – with many initiatives now in place.

The innovative Pathway Into Construction programme encourages female higher education students to undertake a work experience programme, offering the opportunity to learn more about careers in the construction industry.

In addition, the female Director’s vision to empower more females into senior roles within the organisation will continue into 2023 and beyond.

Chief Business Officer, Anita Harrison-Carroll says:

I’M PASSIONATE ABOUT ENCOURAGING MORE FEMALE REPRESENTATION WITHIN THE, AT PRESENT, MALE DOMINATED CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY. AS CHIEF BUSINESS OFFICER, I WILL ENSURE OUR LONG-TERM VISION IN CLOSING THE GENDER PAY GAP AND CREATING EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES FOR ALL IS ACHIEVED. IN ADDITION, THE COMPANY’S EXECUTIVE MANAGEMENT TEAM AND BOARD ARE COMMITTED TO ENSURING WE ACHIEVE EQUALITY FOR ALL.”

Amanda Cromarty, Commercial Manager of Sovini Property Services, added:

“CONSTRUCTION IS A PREDOMINANTLY MALE DOMINATED INDUSTRY, BUT IT’S REFRESHING TO SEE MORE FEMALES CONSIDERING A CAREER IN CONSTRUCTION THROUGH INITIATIVES SUCH AS THE PATHWAY INTO CONSTRUCTION. AS A PROUD WOMAN IN CONSTRUCTION, I BELIEVE ALL FEMALES CAN ACHIEVE THEIR ASPIRATIONS HERE TOO, EQUALLY AND FAIRLY. I’M EXCITED TO SEE SOVINI PROPERTY SERVICES FURTHER SUPPORT THIS VISION OVER THE COMING YEARS, WELCOMING MORE WOMEN INTO ROLES WITHIN THE INDUSTRY.”
